Trái cam Life

Vietnam is developing so fast. Especially Da Nang City. There was no more than three stared hotel before, but now there are a lot of advanced business buildings, apartment and hotels.

Trái cam means orange in Vietnamese. Why orange? I'll talk about that later ;).   I went to Vietnam for 1 week. The main purpose was to attend to my cousin's wedding, so I didn't really go to sightseeing. I didn't go to the capital city, but I went to DaNang and HoiYang. These places were so cool because they both have great beaches. It was so cold, so it wasn’t the right time to go to resort. But it was still a good trip. So, I would personally recommend that you should not go to DaNang and HoiYang from December to February.

Now, let’s talk about orange. You must be curious why I put the title as Orange Life. That is because there were a lot of Vietnamese selling orange, but they will never eat those oranges. They put the orange tree in front of their houses. The oranges were hanging down from skinny but strong branches They were as shiny as real gold. I bet they taste so sweat with a little sour. However, they won’t and won’t let someone to eat those oranges. Such a waist! You must be saying that on your mind. That is what I thought at the first time. They are keeping those oranges because of their culture and religion, which is Buddhism.  They put oranges for fortunes because in Buddhism, colour gold means fortune. All of these cultures of Buddhism came from China. This is because Vietnam was colonised by China for more than 1,000 years. Additionally, it’s not only oranges but also yellow apricot flower (Hoa Mai).

At DaNang, I went to some sightseeing spots but the best spot was Marble Mountain. This mountain is called “Marble Mountain” because many beautiful marbles are hiding inside this mountain. It was not that high, but it was so amazing because it has many great caves for us to see inside the mountain with some statues. I went there twice.
The first day was the day right after the lunar New Year, so it was closed. Therefore I went into the cave with no light. I was guided by the flashlight from phone and protected by my father. It was so scary especially when the flashlight a grouse statue. There was a stare to climb until almost the top of the mountain. If I was alone or with my friends, I would be climbing that, but my parents were scared, so I couldn’t. The best part of walking around the cave without light was when I found a hole that flushes the sunlight into the dark cave. It left a lasting impression.
The second day, I could go up using the elevator. I went to almost as tall as fifty-storey building. It was so high that allows me to see the whole city. It also has many traditional houses and temples.  We can also see some impacts from China. I recommend you to go there for more than three days, because two days were not enough for me to see all of the mountain.

The second great spot was the Lady Buddha. It’s a huge statue of lady Buddha. It looks like touching the clouds. I know that it is God for them, but she really looks like God. The sunlight shines lady Buddha and She stares at the sun. Her face is telling, “That’s the way, and that’s the gate.”  It takes me out of the reality and takes me to my world. By looking at Her, I could imagine anything that related to my life; what have I done, how do I look like, what should I do in the future. This was too beautiful and mysterious to look up to it for long time.

From this trip, I could know how Vietnam is different with other countries and how does it develop.
Also, I could learn that we can see the history of its country though its culture, tradition and objects.
It is fun to find a new unexpected thing and know about things that you don’t understand or you haven’t even thought about it.
And that’s why I like to go on a trip.
